Crews battled a kitchen fire at a townhouse in Cranberry Township Monday night.
The call first came into the Butler County 911 Center around 8:30 p.m. for a fire at a home in the 100 block of Parkwood Drive.
When crews got on scene, they found a working fire at one of the townhouses, although no flames were evident.
Firefighters had to deal with a significant amount of smoke inside the home; eventually they had to cut a hole in the roof to help ventilate.
Everyone was able to safely escape the home and crews were able to leave the scene around 10 p.m.
It’s not clear how the fire started in the kitchen.
