A Butler County man is a part of a number of Pennsylvania residents who are heading south to help Red Cross relief efforts as Hurricane Dorian continues to move along the east coast.
Robert Gurkweitz of Cranberry is one of 34 volunteers from the state who have been deployed to Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina to serve in various roles for the Red Cross.
Right now, 1,600 volunteer workers are currently assisting the Red Cross in the area, but more are expected to be deployed as Dorian makes landfall.
