A Cranberry Township man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly abused residents inside a Beaver County personal care home.
A federal grand jury indicted 31-year-old Tyler Smith late last week for multiple counts of committing hate crimes. The indictment also named 28-year-old Zachary Dinell as a defendant.
The two men worked at McGuire Memorial in 2016 and 2017 as aides to residents who suffered from physical or mental disabilities. The indictment says that the two men punched and kicked residents. They also allegedly rubbed liquid irritants in their eyes and mouths.
The two men are facing significant jail time and a fine if found guilty.
