The Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service has received recognition from a national organization.
The American Heart Association has presented Cranberry EMS with their Mission: Lifeline EMS Bronze Plus Award for treatment of patients experiencing severe heart attacks.
To prevent death from heart attack the American Heart Association and College of Cardiology recommends following a series of protocols to help EMS responders quickly identify patients, notify nearby medical centers, and trigger early response actions from hospital personnel.
Of the 20,000 EMS agencies in the US, only 626 have achieved this designation and only 75 in Pennsylvania have been so honored.
