A local community is preparing a special ceremony for Memorial Day.
This year’s Cranberry Township Memorial Day service will start at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Memorial in North Boundary Park.
The event’s guest speaker is Colonel Raymond Hyland Jr of the 171st Air Refueling wing and he’ll be joined by members of the Cranberry VFW Post 879 color guard. Students at Seneca Valley will sing the National Anthem and also present a trumpet performance as veterans present six memorial wreaths.
The ceremony will also include the release of white doves in remembrance of POWs and MIAs. Refreshments will be served after the 45 minute ceremony.
