Cranberry Township is in the process of looking to replace one of their firetrucks.
Township supervisors say the lengthy wait time for replacing a firetruck requires them to start the planning of purchasing a new truck now.
At a board meeting earlier this month, supervisors approved the purchase of a 2028 Pierce Enforcer Rescue truck that would be delivered in four years.
At that time, a 2008 rescue truck that is currently a part of the township’s fleet would need replaced.
The new firetruck would become the primary rescue unit out of the Route 19 fire station once it is placed into service.
