A Butler County hotel is sending mattresses to a small town in West Virginia that was devastated by flooding.
Volunteers at the new Doubletree Hotel in Cranberry loaded a truck with used mattresses and bed frames Wednesday and headed for Richwood, West Virginia. Many in that area lost everything during a massive flood in late June that killed at least 23 people.
The mattresses are about four years old but high quality. Doubletree employees said they were left over from the Sheraton Hotel which once occupied the space.
The hotel will continue to send mattresses through the end of August. All in all, over 275 mattresses will be delivered.
