Visitors to the Cranberry Township Municipal Center will notice two parking spaces newly designated as a “Safe Exchange Zone”.
The first two spots on the right past the library are designated by posted signs and pavement markings. These spots are monitored by video all the time.
The Safe Exchange Zone can be used for things like exchanging goods bought online, transferring child custody, or transacting other sensitive face-to-face business. These spaces are reserved for people conducting these types of short-term exchanges and should not be used by people at the Municipal Center for other purposes.
Although these spots were chosen because of their close proximity to the Cranberry Police Department, officers will neither participate in nor act as witnesses in any transactions. The use of these spots is also not restricted to Cranberry residents.
