COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise locally.
According to the Department of Health, the number of cases more than doubled compared to last week in Butler County. There were more than 2,100 new cases this week.
Hospitalizations also went up this week. Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 48 patients for the coronavirus with five in the ICU. That’s up 14 patients compared to Monday.
The number of deaths due to COVID in the county also grew by 11. That brings the countywide death toll to 625.
Statewide hospitalizations jumped another 1,400 in the state—with now more than 6,400 people being treated.
