Renovations are continuing to progress at the Butler County Courthouse.
Butler County Commissioners approved a purchase of new fan coil units at their public meeting yesterday. The cost is expected to be just over $400,000 for the project. Maintenance officials say the work can be done by construction crews currently on site, which will lead to significant cost savings.
The county opted to move forward a couple of years ago with plans to renovate both the exterior and interior of the courthouse.
Commissioners say the new HVAC renovation project will lessen moisture in the building, and give them an opportunity to do other work to help with aesthetics.
They also believe the updates will make the courthouse more efficient in the long-term.
