A couple from Summit Township is facing dozens of charges for animal cruelty and child endangerment after police found her home in deplorable shape.
Police executed a search warrant yesterday the home of 48-year-old Regina Pruitt and 55-year-old Robert Pruitt in the 200 block of Saxonburg Road.
Charging documents say that the conditions were so bad, police had to wear hazmat suits and breathing apparatuses.
Upon arrived police seized 10 German Shepherd dogs and three cats. They found all the animals were in poor health and covered in feces, mites, fleas, and lice.
Butler County CYS was also called and found the house was unlivable—although it’s not known if a child did live at the home.
The house was immediately condemned and the Pruitt’s were taken into custody.
