Butler County’s unemployment rate continues to be the lowest in the nine-county region.
According to the latest numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Butler’s rate dipped to 4.5 percent in August. It was 4.7 percent the month prior.
Allegheny County was the only other surrounding county to post a number below 5 percent at 4.7 percent.
