Butler County is naming their solicitor as the interim elections director.
The commissioners formally named Wil White to take over the elections office on an interim basis. White helped oversee this past primary election after the departure of former director Aaron Sheasley.
Commissioner Leslie Osche says they remain hopeful to find someone to take over the position on the permanent basis, but the county needs someone to help serve as the liaison with the Department of State.
White will receive a salary of $5,000 for holding the position through the end of the year.
