Butler County officials have proposed a 3 mill tax increase for 2016.
The proposed budget was presented by Chief Clerk Amy Wilson to the board of commissioners during a meeting Wednesday.
Without a tax increase, the county is looking at a deficit of roughly $4.3 million. If a 3 mill increase passes, the average county homeowner will see their tax bill go up roughly $65.
The 2016 proposed budget will be on display for 20 days and then voted on by the commissioners on Dec. 30.
