Butler County is taking steps to bring in an online system that they hope will help people suffering heart emergencies.
The app is called Pulse Point, and its main objective is to alert qualified personnel if someone is having a cardiac event nearby.
The app would be open to the public, and in order to be alerted to events you would have to show your approved CPR certificate.
Butler County Emergency Services officials say the app is available in Allegheny County and has seen success.
The app could also be used to help alert people if there is a major accident or fire, so to help traffic avoid certain areas.
