A convicted sex offender accused of luring a teenage girl into a desolate Mercer County forest and raping her remains in jail.
State police arrested 54-year-old Henry Krieg of Lackawannock Township last week. Authorities say he drove the girl along East Lake Road in Pymatuning Township and at two different spots within the wooded area, he assaulted her. He then allegedly abandoned her in the woods before returning to Sharon.
The girl was able to walk home and notify authorities.
Krieg has been listed on Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law registry for sexual offenders since 2011, following a prior rape conviction.
