A local fire company is receiving recognition for having a highly trained group of firefighters.
The Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company recently was named as part of the Participating Department Recognition Program. The award is handed out by the state’s fire commissioner for having more than 50 percent of their first responders certified for professional level training.
The Cranberry Township VFC and the City of Butler Fire Department are the only two other organizations that have earned recognition in the program.
