Butler Area School District administrators and teachers are introducing another program at a local elementary school for use by students across the district.
Earlier this week, the district and school board members discussed the creation of an Outdoor Appreciation Campus at Connoquenessing Elementary School.
The school will look to take greater advantage of wooded property near the facility that is owned by the district to encourage project-based learning. A School Development Steering Committee has been meeting to work on Mission Statements and Building Philosophies.
Although this project is still in preliminary stages, staff members have been training on project-based learning strategies and the steering committee continues to work on identifying financial resources.
