Several communities in Butler County are honoring military veterans through colorful banners displayed on local streets.
The idea started in Evans City and has since spread to the City of Butler and Chicora.
Any veteran is eligible for a banner. Cost is $100 but banners are free for veterans who were killed in the line of duty.
Lowes in Butler donated the straight pipe for the banners in the city. Proceeds from the city banners will go to American Legion Post 117.
