The period to pay property taxes at face value is being extended.
County Commissioners approved the resolution at yesterday’s meeting. Residents can now pay their property taxes without penalty until November 30th.
Commissioner Kevin Boozel said this move was made to provide a little ease on taxpayers.
“We discussed why this was important to do this in order to give relief, as much as possible, to the folks to be able to hold their money without the 10 percent penalty,” Boozel said. “Hopefully this provides that relief.”
Commissioners also said that they talked with municipalities about this decision.
