One of the moves that helped the Butler County commissioners pass a 2017 budget without increasing taxes was approving cuts to employee travel costs.
Revisions to the Business Travel Expense Policy were officially voted on and passed Thursday. The revisions are expected to cut county travel costs for next year by 30 percent.
The amended travel policy includes changes to meal reimbursement, allowable gratuity and who is allowed to ride in a county-owned vehicle.
Prior approval is required for all travel.
