The Butler County commissioners are borrowing $15 million for a new 911 system and to finish construction on the county annex building.
The commissioners unanimously approved the move at their meeting Wednesday under terms recommended by the county’s bond counsel.
The majority of the money- at least $13.5 million of it- will go towards the new 911 system. The remaining funds would build out the ground floor of the government annex building, which was constructed a few years ago to hold the human services department.
