The closing of the Pittsburgh State Prison should not have a direct effect on the operations at the Butler County Prison.
Warden Joe DeMore said Thursday he is not aware of any sweeping changes that will have to be made in Butler as a result of SCI-Pittsburgh’s closure. The Butler County Prison has several agreements with other county and state prisons.
The Wolf Administration announced Thursday that the closure of the Pittsburgh State Prison is necessary because of the declining prison population.
