A large Wednesday afternoon brush fire also significantly damaged a Clinton Township garage and threatened a gas well.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 2:30 p.m. for a brush fire covering about an acre in the woods near the 100 block of Miller Road near Lardintown Road.
Crews from Saxonburg responded to find that the blaze had spread to a garage which was fully involved. Buffalo Township, Sarver, Middlesex Township, Penn Township, Adams Area, Freeport, and Herman were among those called out to assist.
The fire also got close to a gas well compressor station before it was shut down. A state crew from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources was requested to respond to the location of the fire.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time but damage to the area is extensive. The fire was contained shortly after 4 p.m.
