Preparations are once again underway for this year’s Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup.
Volunteers will take to the water on Saturday (Aug. 19) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Saturday, Sept. 9. Participants are asked to meet at the Live Out Baptist Church in Fombell, Beaver County.
Their starting point will be Harmony Junction and continue along a 15-mile stretch ending in Ellwood City. Volunteers are encouraged to bring equipment but lunch, snacks, beverages, work gloves and T-shirts will be provided.
Since 2012, the group has successfully removed over 275,000 pounds of garbage, including nearly 3,000 tires from just 37 miles of this 50 mile waterway.
