A member of the Butler Area School Board will step down from his position after agreeing to accept a new job offer.
Leland Clark has been a Butler School Board Director for over two years but he will resign from the board at the conclusion of the board’s April 16 meeting. He will begin as an associate attorney with the Butler law firm of Dillon McCandless King Coulter and Graham the next day.
Since that firm represents the Butler Area School District, it would be a conflict of interest for Clark to continue serving as a school board member.
The district is expected to accept applications from people interested in filling the remainder of Clark’s term, which runs through December of 2019.
