The City of Butler will contribute additional money towards improvement of a section of Sullivan Run.
On Thursday, Butler City Council will vote on paying an additional $3,000 to the US Army Corps of Engineers for the cleanup and repair project for the section of waterway between Penn and Brady streets.
This money is in addition to $6,000 already approved to be paid as the 20 percent local match when the estimate for the work was put together. Now that the bid has come in, the revised 20 percent local match is a total of $9,000.
There is still no definitive timeline for when this work will be done, but officials are hopeful it will take place sometime in 2019. A high water event impacted the Sullivan Run area of Butler in July of 2017.
