Butler City Council anticipates taking out a loan to purchase vehicles and pave streets later this year.
At Thursday’s Agenda Setting Meeting, Council discussed a motion to direct the City Clerk to advertise for a Request for Proposal for a small borrowing loan in the amount of nearly $410,000.
This money would be used to purchase a police vehicle, a parks department truck, repair the streets department garage, and pave unspecified streets. Mayor Bob Dandoy sees this loan as the necessary first step towards getting on a schedule of regular vehicle maintenance and replacement.
The loan would be payable over a term of two years. Council is expected to vote on this motion at their next regular meeting on January 27th.
