The 2018 paving projects for the city of Butler will get underway beginning Friday.
Streets to be milled and paved include: Charles Street from North Main to North McKean; Carbon Street from 2nd Street to Jefferson Street; Cliff Street from Jefferson to Cunningham; and Cedar Street from Cunningham Street to Diamond Street.
Recently-awarded Act 13 Marcellus Shale money will be used for the resurfacing of Monroe Street from Center Ave. to the bridge over the railroad tracks.
Streets that will receive a single-seal tar and chip include: Coal Street from Pittsburgh Road to the end; Pittsburgh Pike from Pittsburgh Road to the city line; Goldwood Avenue from Hansen Avenue to 6th; and Becker Avenue from Diamond to Hazel streets.
The Center Ave. parking lot will also be resurfaced, along with necessary upgrades for ADA compliance. No work will take place on Labor Day, but the paving is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
