The City of Butler is addressing a 25-year-old issue at the Public Safety Building.
Council has authorized payment of $3,500 to a contractor to install an exterior vent in the holding cell area used by city police.
Mayor Ben Smith says this is a necessary project, and it’s needed done for some time.
The approximate amount of this expense was already included in the city Parks Department budget since that department is responsible for maintenance of all city-owned facilities.
