The City of Butler is once again asking for donations to allow for an Independence Day fireworks display.
According to Butler City Mayor Tom Donaldson, at least $15,000 is needed to put on a display comparable to last year.
Local businesses have stepped up in recent years to pay for displays in Butler since the city continues to deal with financial difficulties.
Donaldson said contributions for an additional fireworks show on an undetermined date are also being collected as part of the upcoming celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the City of Butler.
