The city of Butler is asking for the return of some bricks that were removed during street repairs last month.
According to city officials, over 4,000 bricks were removed from Christie Avenue by a contractor to allow for work by Pennsylvania American Water. The bricks were taken to a site off Delwood Road in Butler Township by the contractor for storage while the work was going on.
Upon completion of the job, the bricks were gone.
City officials say that the bricks can be returned now with no questions asked but if whoever took them does not come clean soon, felony charges will be filed and an investigation will try to determine who is responsible.
