Saturday is the first day Butler City residents may begin disposing of leaves at designated areas in Memorial Park.
Signs will be posted to direct residents to designated compost sites, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays through November.
Leaves must be removed from bags at the compost area since the dumping of brush, rubbish or garbage is prohibited.
Any resident who wants to dispose of leaves by burning them on private property should contact the Butler City Fire Chief at 724-283-3100 for instructions.
