The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler has agreed to a contract with a realtor to help sell their current office building.
Authority board members ratified a contract with Capers Real Estate for the sale of 115 East Cunningham Street as well as the old wishing well property at 150 South Main Street. Capers was awarded the contract after bidding a 6% commission in the event of a sale.
The building was recently appraised for about $160,000 and the authority expects to at least receive more than they currently still owe on their current mortgage.
The board also considered contracting for realtor services to sell some single family residential houses and an apartment building but ultimately decided that the income from renting those properties is needed. The authority hopes to sell the office building then revisit if additional properties need to be sold to pay down debt.
