The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler has agreed to sell their current office space and move into new offices provided by the city.
The Authority approved the sale of the property at 115 East Cunningham Street to local entrepreneur Joe Gray for the price of $110,000 subject to solicitor’s approval. The Authority paid $90,000 for the property late in 2013 and initially had an asking price of over $150,000 when the property was put on the market last year.
The Authority is in the process of preparing their new office space in the Tier Garage at 129 West Cunningham Street leased to them for a year for a dollar by the City of Butler. Crews are currently working on some electrical issues and a wall with a door still needs to be built. The Authority also plans to request three parking spaces in the garage from the city.
Moving of files, equipment, and furniture by authority maintenance employees is expected to take place next month before an official beginning in the new location of July 1st.
