The City of Butler is purchasing a new street sweeper.
Council approved a motion to purchase a used 2013 Pelcan P Three Wheel Boom Street Sweeper for $137,500 from A. & H. Equipment Company. About $30,000 from the Liquid Fuels Fund will be used for a down payment.
Council also approved a bid from 911Leasing.com for a five year lease to purchase agreement with a 3.44 percent interest rate for that street sweeper. Yearly payments work out to just over $23,000 which also will be drawn from the Liquid Fuels Fund.
The city will be accepting bids for the former street sweeper, a 1995 Elgin model, which needs some work but could still be useful.
The new street sweeper is expected to arrive on Friday.
