Butler City Police are continuing to ask for the public’s help in finding a local man wanted in the alleged assault of a juvenile.
A felony arrest warrant has been issued for 37-year-old Danny Nichols of Butler.
Officers were called to Nichols’ home on Standard Avenue- off Center Avenue- on Sunday evening for an alleged assault of a juvenile. Police believe Nichols strangled his daughter and also threatened to harm himself, according to court documents.
When police got to his home, they were unable to make contact with him. They did believe he was inside, so after obtaining a search warrant and arrest warrant, they used flash bangs and tear gas rounds to get him to come out, but they got no response.
City police eventually got inside and searched the home, but Nichols was not there.
Butler City Police are asking that anyone with knowledge of Nichols’ whereabouts to call 911.
