The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler is taking the next step in administering a large state grant in order to improve parks in the City of Butler.
The Authority Board approved a bid submitted by Gateway Engineers in the amount of $178,000 for engineering services associated with an over $1.4 million CDBG Cares Act grant for local park improvements.
This grant will fund four different projects including equipment, parking, and restroom improvements to Rotary, Butler Memorial, Father Marinaro, and Christie Avenue Parks.
Only one bid was received for this project because the grant has a requirement that the funds need to be spent within a year. Gateway is expected to begin by creating bid specifications for the projects.
