More information about the future of the Butler BlueSox, as well as the future name of Kelly Automotive Park, could be revealed at a special meeting next week.
The City of Butler Parks, Recreational Grounds and Facilities Authority will hold the meeting at the ballpark at 7 p.m. on Mon, Aug. 27.
The Authority is working on a lease modification proposal that will be made to BlueSox ownership to outline changes that could be made in the current agreement that would allow the partnership to continue. Meetings with prospective naming rights partners are also taking place.
According to Authority solicitor Tom Breth, contrary to some rumors, “it has always been and remains the goal of the authority board to keep the BlueSox playing at Kelly Automotive Park.”
