A group renting Kelly Automotive Park for a fundraiser later this month will not receive a further discount at this time.
At their meeting Monday night, the Butler City Parks, Recreation Grounds, & Facilities Authority discussed a request by Mayor Tom Donaldson to lower or eliminate the park’s rental fee for a City Police K9 fundraiser later this month.
The authority usually rents the park for $3,000 a day to organizations using the facility for events…but signed a contract with organizers of the K9 fundraiser for $1,000. Board members debated if a further discount or waiving the fee would be helpful or a disservice to the community given the current financial situation of the facility.
The authority eventually decided to leave the agreement as it was originally agreed to and reevaluate their financial position following August 29th event.
