The City of Butler is looking for a new emergency management coordinator.
The city is inviting interested candidates to apply.
City officials say this is an unpaid position that demands time, effort and training in order to be the point person for the city in the event of a disaster or other emergency. Emergency responders are not eligible for this position due to the fact that they would be needed to do their first job (as an emergency responder) in the event of a disaster.
Former city council member Rick Schontz was the previous Emergency Management Coordinator.
