It’s still unclear what caused a Butler City home to catch fire over the weekend for the second time this year.
The fire started just after midnight Saturday in the 100 block of Morton Avenue. Butler City Fire Captain Tom Fair said the home was already engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene.
“When they (the firefighters) hit Main Street they could already see the orange glow in the sky,” Fair said Monday.
No one had been living in the home since the house first caught fire in January- so no one was hurt. It’s unclear what caused this weekend’s fire because the building had no electric or utility hook-ups.
What was left of the home after the fire has already been torn down.
