A collection is underway to help the Butler Township woman whose home was heavily damaged by a fire this week.
The Butler City Firefighters local union is sponsoring the fundraiser because the Tuesday fire damaged the home of a widow of a city firefighter.
“The brotherhood of the fire service runs deep. We are all a close knit family and anytime we can help someone within our own community; it is something that we take pride in,” the Butler City Firefighters Local IAFF Local 114 said in a statement.
Anyone interested in donating to assist the Meridian homeowner can stop by the Butler City Fire Station on North Washington Street. Checks should be made payable to IAFF Local 114.
