The Butler City Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Saturday morning. According to Lieutenant Crawford the fire was in a duplex on Carbon Street. The call came in at 12:48 am. Four residents of 537 Carbon Street got out but residents of 535 Carbon Street, a 30 year old male and a two year old female, were taken by Butler Ambulance to West Penn Hospital and a 54 year old female had to be rescued from a second floor bathroom. She was taken to Butler Hospital and then flown by Life Flight to West Penn. The cause is undetermined and the State Police Fire Marshal has been called to investigate. Damage is estimated at $50000 to the structure and $5000 to the contents.
