Butler City Council has endorsed a uniform design plan for downtown businesses and properties.
The Streetscape Plan was developed over several years and presented to council earlier this week by the Butler Downtown organization.
The plan will serve as an outline for the visual look of features like sidewalks, lights, benches, trees and signage.
Council stressed this endorsement is not an ordinance or requirement, merely a recommendation of the look of downtown that is preferred.
