Prospective candidates who are interested in serving a two-year term on Butler City Council are again encouraged to express their intentions.
Following the recent passing of Councilman Mike Walter, his seat on council is currently vacant.
The only requirement is to be a city resident over 18 years old, who is able to express why they would like the position and what skills they would bring to the job. Mayor Dandoy stated that the new council member will be taking over leadership of the City’s Streets Department.
Letters of interest can be sent to or dropped off at the City Building to the attention of Mayor Dandoy are due by noon on Monday, April 18th. Anyone who applied for the vacant Council seat earlier this year does not need to apply again and will again be considered if still interested.
Council anticipates making a decision to fill the seat during their next meeting, later this month. The chosen candidate need not be present and can be sworn into the seat at a later date.
