The City of Butler is contracting with a firm to market office space for rent in a local garage.
The contract with Hanna, Langholz, Wilson, and Ellis is to rent 4,000 square feet of space in the Morgan Centre area of the Washington Street Tier Garage. The deal will not cost the city anything up front but the firm will receive 5 percent of any deal they can make to rent the space.
The firm is expected to ask $18 per square foot per month for the property, which would allow the city to collect around $6,000 per month.
Butler County had been renting the space previously for $84,000 per year but the new brokers will market to businesses and organizations in the Pittsburgh area as well.
