The city of Butler has changed their ordinance to allow for a developer to move ahead with plans to refurbish the former Pullman Standard office building.
Butler City Council had the second reading and adoption of the new rule that changes zoning in order to allow multiple family dwellings in areas zoned C-2. Areas on Main Street will be exempt from this change.
Representatives from the WODA Group attended Tuesday night’s meeting and presented their plans to rehab the long-vacant Hansen Avenue structure for use as apartments for seniors 62 and over.
The developer will now petition the state for tax credits and hopefully begin the project sometime this fall.
