Representatives from the City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority will meet with owners of the Butler BlueSox in an effort to resolve a disagreement over concessions.
According to the contract that the authority has with the baseball team to operate concessions at Kelly Automotive Park, there is a two-month window through October during which either side can choose to re-open negotiations for that contract.
After a board member made a motion to that effect Wednesday night, BlueSox part owner Wink Robinson said that if the motion passed, the Sox would no longer manage concessions. BlueSox managing partner Larry Sassone added that re-opening concession negotiations could result in the team moving out of Butler.
The Sox currently pay the authority about $13,000 to operate concessions but that amount was greater in the past.
The motion to open concession negotiations was eventually tabled by the city authority and the two sides agreed to meet at an undetermined date and time to discuss BlueSox financial information regarding concessions.
