The Butler City Parks, Recreation Grounds, and Facilities Authority is one step closer to preserving an important community asset.
At a meeting Monday night, the authority voted in favor of several motions to further solidify a deal currently in place to purchase Kelly Automotive Park.
In what Chairman Nick Ban called “a collective group effort,” the authority entered into an agreement with Nextier Bank for a $325,000 line of credit repayable over 10 years. Of that total, $300,000 would go to Dollar Bank who is still owed money for the park and $25,000 would cover closing costs and other expenses of the transaction.
Last week, the City of Butler approved a motion to guarantee the repayment of that financial obligation.
